683 days of a body that didn’t feel safe. A body that was abused, unnourished, stressed and fatigued. But after along, hard journey of repairing, nourishing, destressing and finding my light again, it came. FINALLY! All of this hard work FINALLY paid off!
Now that it’s here ( my period ) and my hormones are in check, do I quit? Do I stop what I’m doing and go back to old, EASIER habits? NOPE!
I am in this for the long haul. And even though I have reached a major goal, I can’t stop now.
I don’t know where you are in your journey, but with summer close by I know a lot of us are working out double time, eating is in check and we are trying so hard for the ‘summer bod’. But then summer comes and everyone does what?! They stop the routine. But why? Because it was such hard work to maintain that lifestyle, or maybe after seeing the results you didn’t think you had to continue to work hard at maintaining. But you do!
I can’t say that I am happy with the look of my body today, but I am sure happy with the way it feels, and how hard it is working for me right now. And honestly that is what matters. I want to keep FEELING good so I will keep working on the things that lead me there.
You need to do this too.
Does working out 7+ times a week really make you feel good?! Does eating like a bird really make you feel good? But also, is it something you can maintain forever?!
What makes you feel good?
Eating enough to nourish your body and working out JUST enough so you don’t overstress the body. This is probably something you can maintain for life.
Did you know being healthy is a lifetime commitment… Quick fixes will not get you there. Maybe for a moment, but not for a lifetime.
I am happy to say that one of my biggest goals has been accomplished, but now I have to maintain this and continue to put my efforts in remaining healthy.
So maybe you are close to your major goal, or maybe it’s still a few steps out of reach… I know you can get there and when you do, I need you to evaluate how you are going to continue to maintain it.
I still have SO much work to do, but I know what
I am doing is leading me in the right direction.
